07/20/2009"When can we come back?" The leaders of OmniReach support project to Guatemala were ready to return even as they were boarding the airplane for the flight home...a great indication that the project exceeded expectations.
In Ria Chuelo, our team partnered with World Reach to provide much needed clothing and build storage areas for donations. Following, we ventured to nearby Bonanza where we held a medical clinic until late in the evening to treat everything from ear infections, snake bites, parasites, and more. We also provided toys and goodies for all the village kids...a lot of fun;a lot of love.
Our next journey carried us through the mountains by a 2 1/2 hour horseback ride to the remote village of Tres Pinos - the most needy area of all.
We arrived at Tres Pinos and set up another medical clinic: treatment was administered non-stop for two entire days. We delivered school supplies so that all of the children in the village could attend and participate in the classroom - children are restricted if they are without simple things like pencils and paper. And again, lots of candy, toys, and playtime!
In 2010 the team will return to Guatemala to serve the community of Tres Pinos.
